Route
206 Scenic Byway Association
Minutes
of Regular Meeting of the Corporation on 8/8/2001
Present:
Helen Hernandez, Candace Harrington, Ellen Adams, Ken Schrider, Robert Terry,
Robert Lambrigger, George M. Sands, Janice O=Shea. Member Tim Barbeisch was initially present,
but asked to leave at the start of the executive session.
The
meeting was called to order by President Helen Hernandez at 7:00 PM and an
executive session was immediately called to order.
The
executive session closed at 7:20 PM and we returned to a regular meeting,
starting with listing the obstacles still to be overcome regarding the Scenic
Byway application process.
It
was identified that, while a number of things [taking of inventory, collection
of letters of commitment, public hearings, presentation of area civic
organisations, notification of each township and request for their support]
have already been accomplished, the following work still remains to be done:
--
Labelling of features, anemities,
historical points, points of interest, accommodations, etc on the maps provided by Robert Augenstern=s office of the Southern Tier East Regional
Development Board.
--
Definition and composition of an overall focus on Route 206 as a Scenic Byway
To
ease the burden on Vice President and Scenic Byway Committee leader Candace
Harrington, it was decided that regular meetings consist of worksessions to
bring the application process to a point where we can submit it to the D.O.T.,
taking the opportunity to receive input from any members present at such
meetings.
There
was a motion made by Robert Terry and seconded by Robert Lambrigger to move forward on the September 18
presentation by Linda LaRosa Mosner regarding Agri-Tourism (please view back of
these minutes for further info), because it can help bring the necessary focus
to the theme of Route 206 as a Scenic Byway.
All were in favor and motion was passed.
There
was no reading of Minutes of the June 12, 2001 facilitated meeting. The notes will be submitted by Robert
Augenstern at a later time.
Treasurer=s Report showed that we have a balance of $2282.96 in
the Scenic Byway fund, $0.03 in the General Fund, Receivables of $215, and
Accounts Payables of $2525.70. A motion
was made by Robert Lambrigger and Seconded by Robert Terry to accept the
Treasurer=s report. All
in favor, motion passed.
Robert
Terry reported on the progress of the September/October travelling exhibit and
discussed with George M. Sands about the role of Forging the Freedomtrail
Project at the exhibit.
A
motion was made by Robert Terry and seconded by George M. Sands to adjourn the
meeting at 8:50 PM.
Next
Regular Meeting: September 12, 2001 at 6:30 PM at the BOCES White House in
Trout Creek.
